Chris Otwell, War Room Report:
How did it feel to win the National Championship?
Brandon Siler: It
felt great, I mean what made it even feel better was when nobody gave us
a chance and at the beginning of the year we were underdogs with every game
we played. So I felt good because all the boys knew we could do it and going
and proving it to the rest of the nation felt real good.
Chris Otwell, War Room Report:
Was it a tough decision to leave Florida early?
Brandon Siler: Yes,
it was a tough decision. When I came into college, I had a goal to graduate
in 3 years. I had an idea of what I wanted to do and once I got to that
point, it was a hard decision. Not only did we have the best football team,
and the best basketball team, but the best people on campus, and that made
the decision tough.

Chris Otwell, War Room Report:
At what point during the season, did you know you had something special at
Florida?
Brandon Siler: There was a bunch of points. Even when we lost to
Auburn, five minutes after the game, I found myself thinking we could come
back. I think from the beginning, it was all about the off season, with all
the changes we made. It wasn’t about a point of the season, it was before
then, all the work was put in, and everything that we did before that time,
led up to that.
Chris Otwell, War Room Report:
You were the center piece of a defense that featured several outstanding
defenders. Did you and the others challenge and feed off of each other every
week, and how do you feel everyone will do at the next level? |
"I am ready to step in now and be the best"

Brandon Siler: You know what, it is going to be a big change for us.
One of the biggest things that made us win is that we learned to love
each other, that was probably the biggest thing, and the thing that we took
most for granted and that matters. At the next level there are so many
politics, and a lot of guys just don’t love the game and play for the money.
It is going be a big change, and I think in all the great players, that is
evident, and if we handle that change, we will all be good.
Chris Otwell, War Room Report:
You worked out at the 2007 NFL Scouting Combine and at your pro day for
the NFL Coaches, how do you feel you did, and how do you think it helped
you?
Brandon Siler: I worked out well. I mean that is when you want to
show your real colors, at the Combine and pro day. That is when you show
your true colors. The pressure is all on you, if you’re an athlete its going
to show and if you're not its going show too. I think I did real good
because I'm a real athlete and I just put out what I had and felt real good
about it.
Chris Otwell, War Room Report:
Who interviewed you at the combine and how did they go?
Brandon Siler: Yeah, but I am a smart guy, so the interviews didn’t
bother me at all. I felt really comfortable doing the interviews. Teams
asked me to draw up some defensive plays, but that was not a problem at all.
Chris Otwell, War Room Report:
How do you think you stand in this years crop of LB’s?
Brandon Siler: I feel like I'm the best LB in this class, and will be
the best LB to come out when its all said and done. Of course everyone is
going to say that, but I really feel that way and am confident in myself.
Chris Otwell, War Room Report:
In your freshman season, you stepped in for an injured Channing Crowder,
and from there you became only the second freshman ever to lead the gators
in tackles with 77 and won the SEC freshman of the year. Do you think being
put in that role in such an early stage of your college career, was a
stepping stone to being the great player you are today?
Brandon Siler: I think it was unfortunate that what happened to
Channing happened, and you don’t want to see that happen to anyone. I
learned a lot from Channing, and I feel like that everything happens for a
reason, and everything that happened in my college career I consider a
stepping stone to my success.
Chris Otwell, War Room Report:
What things do you feel you need to improve on, if any, to be considered
one of the best LB at the NFL level?
Brandon Siler: I feel like I'm ready for the next level. I have a few
techniques to continue to work on, just like anybody else, but I am ready to
step in now and be the best.
Chris Otwell, War Room Report:
If you had to compare your game to anyone in the NFL, who would that be?
Brandon Siler: In the off season, I worked out with Ray Lewis, and he
taught me a lot, so if I had to compare my game to anyone in the NFL, it
would have to be Ray.
Chris Otwell, War Room Report:
Did you have a favorite team growing up, and in your heart, do you have
a team you would just love to play for?
Brandon Siler: I want to be able to go to a team that will win and
that I can help win, and a team that I can contribute to. I never really had
a favorite NFL team, I didn’t get into it that much, I was always working on
my game.
