TE4 - Matt Spaeth, Minnesota Matt SpaethOfficial Bio

NFL.com Profile
Height: 6-7
Weight: 270
40 yard dash: 4.83
Grade: 65
Strengths:
Spaeth is a huge target, who uses his size to shield defenders and fight for the ball. Spaeth has solid ball skills and is not afraid of contact. He should be a valuable target in the short to intermediate passing game, particularly in the red zone.
Weaknesses:
Spaeth is not a downfield threat, with only marginal top speed. He needs to work on his agility and shiftiness in getting open. Despite his size, he is sometimes pushed off his route by stronger defenders. Spaeth is not a top notch blocker. He works hard at it but he needs to develop more strength.
Overall:
Spaeth underwent reconstructive shoulder surgery after the Minnesota regular season. He is the all time leading tight end in yards and receptions at Minnesota and should find his niche in the NFL as a red zone and short yardage threat. His size is intriguing, but he must improve his blocking if he wishes to become a full time starter.
