S7 - Aaron Rouse, Virginia Tech Aaron Rouse

NFL.com Profile

Height: 6-4
Weight: 223
40 yard dash: 4.55
Grade: 74
Strengths:
Rouse has a unique size and speed combination. He has good playing strength and the ability to cover reasonably well due to good quickness and fluid hips. He is an intimidating tackler and a good leader on the field. He is a good run defender as his aggressive pays off. He is a solid tackler who will punish receivers and running backs.

Weaknesses:

Rouse can get too aggressive at times, which makes him over run plays or get late hit penalties. He needs to improve his coverage, as he is tentative at times. He is a "tweener" prospect. He may not have the coverage skills to handle the faster tight ends and slot receivers at the NFL level.

Overall:
Rouse may be a player without an ideal position. His size is intimidating but it may lead to some teams thinking he can not play the safety position full time. He could possibly translation to linebacker in a Cover 2 system.
