RB9 - Dwayne Wright, Fresno State |
Official
Bio |
Height: 6-1
Weight: 210
40 yard dash: 4.68
Grade: 68 |
Strengths:
Dwayne Wright has a ton of upside due to the fact that he has
extraordinary physical skills. He is versatile and can run inside
and outside of the tackles. He has the frame that NFL teams look
for when considering whether a RB can handle full time duties. If
Wright can continue to work and improve, he might be this draft's RB
under the radar that could pay off down the line for a team willing
to take a chance on him.
Weaknesses:
Wright fell victim to a severe knee injury his junior season and
that has many scouts worried. In time as
he continues to make improvements coming back from injury his time
will continue to decline and his playmaking ability will continue to
rise. He also has not had many carries at the collegiate level,
just over 300 roughly, so his inexperience is also a negative
factor. Wright is slower than one would like for a player of his
size.
Overall:
Wright has second day steal written all over him. Had he not
gotten injured his sophomore season we are more than likely talking
about a second round selection and not a fourth or fifth rounder.
His junior campaign shows that when given a chance, Wright can
produce at a high level. It remains to be seen whether an NFL
franchise will give him that same opportunity. The question that
will dog Wright is rather or not his knee injury is healed.
