RB8 - Antonio Pittman, Ohio State |
Official
Bio |
Height: 5-11
Weight: 195
40 yard dash: 4.40
Grade: 70 |
Strengths:
Pittman is an excellent one cut back, who is very instinctive and
decisive. As one of more unheralded RBs to come out of Ohio
State in recent memory, Pittman made a name for himself while
running for 1,000 plus yards in back to back seasons. He is nimble
and has the elusiveness to make defenders miss in the open field.
Weaknesses:
His numbers declined in his 2006 junior season from his 2005
sophomore season. In many instances the Buckeyes had an
insurmountable lead in ball games, but you never want to see a dip
in statistics as the player matures. Like many of his fellow Ohio
State counterparts, will Pittman's status fall as we approach the
draft as the horrendous overall performance the Buckeyes produced in
the National Championship game is still fresh in our memories?
Overall:
I think Pittman is most adequately fit for a team with a one-cut
system such as the Denver Broncos. While Pittman is not going to run
over the defense, once he makes his move, he can be downfield in a
hurry. Overall we think Pittman's game is average and his upside is
limited. I would expect to hear his name called in Round 3, if not
the beginning of Day 2. |
