QB10 - Matt Gutierrez, Idaho
State |
Official
Bio |
Height: 6-4
Weight: 232
40 yard dash: 5.02
Grade: 53 |
Strengths:
The highly touted Gutierrez posses the ideal physical build for NFL
success, at a solid 6-4. He has good arm strength and good
mechanics. Gutierrez has good accuracy and touch on the ball and can
make most NFL throws.
Weaknesses:
Rowe suffered a torn labrum in his throwing shoulder that derailed a
promising career. Because of the injury, Guitierrez is still very
raw, having gained most of his experience at Idaho State. He will be
forced to take several years to learn the NFL system from NFL
coaches. He does not have very good mobility and will take some big
hits in the pocket.
Overall:
Originally a Michigan recruit after going undefeated in
California high school football, he transferred after his injury
forced him to
lose the starting job to Chad Henne. Gutierrez is an interesting prospect
because of his raw ability, but any team that drafts him must be
willing to give him time to develop.
