OT7 - Marshall Yanda Ryan Harris

NFL.com Profile

Height: 6-5
Weight: 315
40 yard dash: 5.15
Grade: 73
Strengths:
Marshall Yanda has an excellent blend of athleticism and tenacity rolled into a nice versatile offensive tackle/guard prospect. Marshall Yanda is an intelligent offensive lineman prospect who has solid fundamentals and plays with a nastiness that o-line coaches love. Marshall Yanda is versatile enough to project to any blocking scheme, even the zone blocking technique.
Weaknesses:
Marshall Yanda weighs in at just over 300 pounds, so he could bulk up to ensure he will not wear down due to the constant pounding at the NFL level. Marshall Yanda appears to be beaten by more complex pass-rushing moves, including double moves. Marshall Yanda’s play on the field is fueled emotionally, but sometimes those emotions can overflow and that can lead to a problem with staying discipline and avoiding penalties. Bull rushers in the National Football League could have a field day with Marshall Yanda due to the lack of upper body strength.
Overall:
Marshall Yanda does have some limitations and deficiencies, but luckily for him he has high potential and the frame that is conducive to him adding weight and bulk and allowing him to realize such potential. NFL teams will not have to reach on Marshall Yanda, as he is viewed from a prospective standpoint as a “project.” However, potential starting offensive tackles do not fall off of trees, so expect to here Marshall Yanda’s name called in the later portion of round three or early in day two of the 2007 NFL Draft.
