OLB10 - Earl Everett, Florida |

NFL.com
Profile |
Height: 6-2
Weight: 238
40 yard dash: 4.88
Grade: 66 |
Strengths:
Earl Everett is a smooth player who has fluid hips, can assist a team in pass
defense as well as run defense. Like many other linebackers, Earl Everett seems
play his best when he is protected by his defensive tackles, when he is given
space on the field to fly around and make ferocious tackles. Earl Everett has
excellent height and has the coverage skills to cover a tight end.
Weaknesses:
His 40 time at the combine was an eye-opener, but it was in a bad way. 4.88 is
not a time you want to see linebackers in the National Football League run. He
needs coaching, he doesn’t diagnose a play quickly enough to react to it on many
occasions. If blockers get to him, he can not get away on occasion, so he needs
to work on his hands and his footwork.
Overall:
Earl Everett has been the antithesis of Stewart Bradley as his stock just
continues to decline and slide more and more as the 2007 NFL Draft approaches.
He seems to be one of the dreaded “product of the system” type players. Earl
Everett was once thought to be a boarder line first round prospect,
unfortunately for his sake, he is now looking at a boarder line day one
prospect. |
