Strengths:
Arron Sears brings added
versatility to an offensive line. Sears had the opportunity to play
both offensive tackle and offensive guard at the collegiate level
against top notch competition in the SEC. Sears has surprising
quickness and has a knack for getting to the next level of blockers
down the field.
Weaknesses:
Arron Sears may be another offensive lineman prospect whose stock
may take a hit due to the fact that he never truly excelled at
either offensive tackle or offensive guard. He did play both
positions, but bouncing back and forth on the line did not give
Sears the opportunity to perfect his craft and ensure his draft
position due to the fact that some teams are not sure whether he
would be a better fit at OT or OG. Weight has also been a concern
with Sears, he gets winded and could really benefit to slim down a
bit to increase his stamina.
Overall:
If Arron Sears is available mid round two and a team needs offensive
line help, Sears would be a smart pick. Sears is versatile and can
help across the line, but he will need to be coached up, he will
need to slim down, and he will go through bouts of growing pains
early on in his career, but if things break right, you have an
anchor in your offensive line for the next decade.
