OG6 - Andy Alleman, Akorn Andy Alleman

NFL.com Profile

Height: 6-4
Weight: 305
40 yard dash: 5.07
Grade: 72
Strengths:
Andy Alleman has quicker boost of quickness than do most of the offensive guards in the 2007 NFL Draft, due to the fact that he is a former defensive tackle and is used to getting off the ball with an explosive first step. Andy Alleman is adept at pulling on a trap play, which is a feat several of the other top offensive guard prospects do not do very well. Andy Alleman can not only get the initial block, but can get into the second level and pick off additional defenders.
Weaknesses:
Andy Alleman does not sustain blocks as long as scouts would like, and does not have the strength that many of the other high level offensive guard prospects have. He will have trouble with the stronger defensive tackles, and must really focus on leverage techniques in order to drive them off the ball. He is not a “road grader” and must work on using his hands properly.
Overall:
Andy Alleman is a solid prospect whose stock is gaining momentum as we approach April 28th. He has an excellent frame, which could use some bulking up, but all the intangibles are there for Alleman to have success in the National Football League. Andy Alleman is a well-rounded offensive guard prospect who should excel in any offense.
