Strengths:
Brandon Siler has the look of a true leader at the middle linebacker
position in the National Football League. You have to love the
intangibles that this kid brings to the table week in and week out.
Once he gets to the runner, he will bring him down, more than likely
with a huge hit that will get the fans on their feet. A very
experienced player due to the fact that he has started on a
successful team for three seasons, against the best competition
college football has to offer, Brandon Siler has all the looks of a
second round pick, which will put up first round pick type
production.
Weaknesses:
Brandon Siler will struggle against the pass in the National
Football League, especially early on in his career. Like several
other prospects in the linebacker class, Siler is just not as fluid
as scouts would like to project him as having better success on
defense against a passing offense. His workout numbers did not
overwhelm anyone, so his potential “upside” is believed to be at a
minimal.
Overall:
Athleticism may be a concern, but you can not teach the true
leadership qualities that Brandon Siler possesses. He will struggle
early, like many prospects will, but with some excellent coaching,
you are looking at a starting MLB in the National Football League.
He will be an excellent run stuffing middle linebacker from the very
beginning, but work must be done on his pass defense for him to live
up to his true potential. Solid 2nd round selection.
