DE7 - Tim Crowder, Texas Tim CrowderNFL.com Profile
Height: 6-4
Weight: 272
40 yard dash: 4.69
Grade: 88
Strengths:
Tim Crowder has ideal size and strength for a defensive end. Crowder does a good job shedding blockers and really benefits from his hard work both in the weight room and in the film room. He has very good techinque, as he uses his hands properly and does a great job maintaining balance. Crowder is a good tackler and active in the run game. He is able to hold his own at the point of attack.
Weaknesses:
At times, Crowder can get a bit high in his pass rush and be taken out of the play by solid offensive linemen. Crowder does not have the explosion on the snap to consistently beat defenders. He worked out well at the combine but is not really an overall agile player.
Overall:
Crowder had an outstanding senior season for the Longhorns, but there is some question to his upside at the NFL level. His workouts really elevated his stock to a early second round grade, as he was projected initially as a late second round player. Crowder's intangibles and strength should allow him to be a solid starter in the NFL, but he is unlikely to be a Pro Bowl or record double digit sacks.
