CB10 - Jonathan Wade, Tennessee Jonathan Wade

NFL.com Profile

Height: 5-10
Weight: 190
40 yard dash: 4.38
Grade: 78
Strengths:
Wade has elite speed, as he was a track star at Tennessee. He has a frame that allows him to explode down the field and is blessed with great change of direction ability. His speed and agility allow him to play off receivers and close on them as the ball is in the air. He has very fluid hips and the ability to run with receivers down the field. He has good leaping ability and as a former offensive player, terrific ball skills.

Weaknesses:

Wade is a very raw player, as he only participated in spring practice one season (competed in track during the other off-seasons). He is easily fooled and does not have proper technique. He does not like to help in the running game, as he shies away from contact and is a poor tackler. He has problems shedding blocks.

Overall:

Wade is an intriguing prospect with a high upside. He has all of the necessary skills to be a top man defender, but he is not going to be able to contribute much as a rookie. He does not like to tackle and has poor technique. He will need to be coached up, but will hear his name called on Day One due to his physical ability.
