CB2 - Darrelle Revis, Pittsburgh |

NFL.com
Profile |
Height: 5-11
Weight: 204
40 yard dash: 4.39
Grade: 92 |
Strengths:
Revis has prototypical size for the position and a solid build with
long arms. He uses his long arms to play physical with receivers. He
has good change of direction skills and excels at reading the
quarterback. He is not afraid to press the receiver and is faster
than some give him credit for. He is willing to support the run and
is a solid open field tackler. He returned punts well at Pittsburgh
and could be an NFL caliber returner.
Weaknesses:
Revis has good timed speed but may not have the necessary
acceleration to react to receivers who beat his jam. He has a
tendency to over use his hands, which could result in penalties at
the NFL level. He is going to be susceptible to fast receivers who
are able to get off the line of scrimmage. He has a tendency to stay
to upright in his backpedal which causes him to struggle against
elusive receivers.
Overall:
Revis has solid technique and a frame that allows him to play press
coverage, but he may be best served in a zone heavy scheme,
especially versus top receivers, due to only average agility. Like
Leon Hall, he may not be able to develop into a true #1 shutdown
corner but he should be able to have a solid career, especially when
his kick return skills are considered. |
