CB13 - A.J. Davis, North Carolina State A.J. Davis

NFL.com Profile

Height: 5-10
Weight: 193
40 yard dash: 4.43
Grade: 72
Strengths:
A.J. Davis is one of the most agile corners in the draft. A phenomenal athlete, Davis also starred in track and field. He has very fluid hips and excels at turning and running with receivers. He has good recognition skills and excels at reading both the QB and the receiver. He is a natural athlete and is able to use his leaping ability to make plays on the ball and has average ball skills.

Weaknesses:

Davis may have problems with more physical receivers at the NFL level as he does not have the playing strength to press at the line of scrimmage. However, he is fluid enough to stay with receivers down the field. He is a little too aggressive at times and will have to remain disciplined and off receivers at the NFL level. He will be a target in the rushing game as he has trouble shedding blocks.
Overall:

A WRR favorite, Davis' natural agility will make the transition to the NFL much easier. He can immediately step in at nickel back and contribute. He may struggle in some schemes that ask him to help in rushing defense frequently. However, in the proper scheme, Davis could be a draft day steal.
