65. Oakland Raiders
 |
Brandon Menbane, DT, Cal |
| Oakland has
some talent at DT, but they are advancing in age. Menbane was
productive at Cal and should stay in the area and help Oakland. He
could go a bit earlier, but would be a great addition to the
Raiders. |
66. Detroit Lions
 |
Justin Durant, LB, Hampton |
| Despite
playing at a lower level, Durant is a player on the rise. He
projects as an ideal Cover 2 MLB and the Lions desperately need a
player to replace Paris Lenon in the middle. Durant has the speed
and skills necessary to man the middle of the field in the Cover 2. |
67. Cleveland Browns
 |
James
Marteen, OT, Boston College |
| The Browns get a tough, physical OT
prospect in the third round, an exceptional value. Like many of the
BC offensive linemen, Marteen is a mauler. He could immediately
start for a Browns team that needs help on the line. |
68. Tampa Bay Bucs
 |
Jonathan Wade, CB, Tennessee |
| An extremely gifted corner, Wade must
become more consistent. Tampa's corners are advancing in age and
Wade could step right in and contribute in the Tampa 2 system. |
69. Arizona Cardinals
 |
Earl Everett, OLB, Florida |
|
Arizona needs to add someone to compete with Daryl Blackstock and
Calvin Pace to be the starter. Everett had a productive career at
Florida, but his measurables have fallen short of what was expected.
Still, the need for an OLB and the weakness of this class may force
Arizona to take him here. |
70. Denver Broncos
 |
John
Wendling, S, Wyoming |
| The Broncos have been very active in
the off season and with an abundance of draft picks, they should
target a replacement for John Lynch. Wendling has created a stir
with his tremendous workout numbers but he was also very productive
at Wyoming. He needs to work on his technique, but Denver could
afford to use him in dime coverage early before he replaces Lynch. |
71. Miami Dolphins
 |
Ryan Harris, OT, Notre Dame |
| The Dolphins missed out on Levi Brown
in Round One, but find a similar prospect here. While not as
talented as Brown, Harris has the athleticism to potentially be a
staring left tackle in the NFL, but there are questions about his
work ethic and consistency. There have been questions about his
weight as of late, but the Dolphins need to add a player who can
help on the offensive line. |
72. Minnesota Vikings
 |
Tim
Shaw, OLB, Penn State |
| Chad Greenway is recovering from a
torn ACL and there is no depth at the linebacker position. Depending
on Greenway's health, the Vikings may go a different route. Tim Shaw
has all of the abilities to translate into an outstanding outside
linebacker in time. |
73. Houston Texans
 |
Jason Hill, WR, Washington State |
| The Texans must add another WR target
for Matt Schaub to be successful. With no second round pick, Houston
is forced to select the best available WR here. They luck out in
finding Jason Hill, one of the most productive WRs in Pac 10
history. Hill would immediate be the starter in Houston |
74. Buffalo Bills
 |
Antonio Pittman, RB, Ohio State |
| The Bills need to add a running back
and Pittman was productive at Ohio State. A good one cut type
runner, Pittman would figure to be in the starting mix in Buffalo.
The Bills have several important needs and are almost forced to
draft for those needs. |
75. Atlanta Falcons
 |
Michael Bush, RB, Louisville |
| New Falcons coach Bobby Petrino wishes
to install the power running game he used at Louisville, but he lacks
the back to do it. Michael Bush would had been a first round pick if
not for his leg injury. He has not been able to run as of yet, which
is lowering his value. However, Atlanta may grab him here to secure
his services. Once healthy, he is the ideal back for Petrino. |
76. San Francisco 49ers
 |
Buster Davis, MLB, Florida State |
| The 49ers need to add a MLB and the
staff became enamored with Buster Davis at the Senior Bowl. The 3-4
system that Mike Nolan is installing in San Francisco will help hide
Davis' lack of sideline to sideline speed. However he is a player
surpasses his measurables and is likely to be an outstanding 3-4 ILB. |
77. Pittsburgh Steelers
 |
Tony Hunt, RB, Penn State |
| The Steelers need to add a power
runner to compliment Willie Parker. Tony Hunt is a physical back who
can take a pounding. Hunt or Michael Bush would probably be the most
likely candidates for the Steelers to draft. He starred instate at
Happy Valley and could provide a lift to the Steelers along the goal
line. |
78. Green Bay Packers
 |
Ben Patrick, TE, Delaware |
| The Packers struggled mightily in the
red zone in 2006 and that can partially be attributed to the decline
in Bubba Franks who had one of the lowest reception percentages in
the league. The Packers require their TE to block to help the young
offensive line, and Ben Patrick may be the most complete tight end
in the draft. He excelled at Division 1-AA Delaware after
transferring from Duke.

79. Jacksonville Jaguars
 |
Trent Edwards, QB, Stanford |
| The Jaguars have one of the most
talented teams in the league, but have shuffled quarterbacks out in
recent years. Trent Edwards was not able to demonstrate his talent
on the field at Stanford due to poor talent around him and injury
concerns. Edwards could be brought in as a development prospect to
potentially replace the Leftwich/Garrard duo. |
Cincinnati Bengals
 |
No pick (Used in Supplemental Draft) |
80. Tennessee Titans
 |
David
Irons, CB, Auburn |
| With the suspension of Pacman Jones,
the Titans must draft a corner early. Irons has the physical tools
but must refine his technique and improve his consistency. With many
teams needing CB depth, Tennessee must grab a CB early. |
81. New York Giants
 |
Ryan
McBean, DT, Oklahoma State |
| The Giants have been building a young
core along the front four and McBean would be a great addition. A
player without much experience, he will only improve but his upside
is tremendous. |
82. St. Louis Rams
 |
Quinton
Moses, DE, Georgia |
| The Rams need to find another pass
rusher. Leonard Little is advancing in age. James Hall was brought
in from Detroit, but Moses is a solid value here, despite a
lackluster senior season. |
83. Carolina Panthers
 |
Sabby
Piscatelli, S, Oregon State |
| The Panthers need to add safety depth
after Thomas Davis failed to work out at the safety position. Mike
Minter is an outstanding player but he may not have many seasons
left. The versatile Piscatelli is an athletic ball hawking safety
who can contribute in many ways. |
84. Kansas City Chiefs
 |
Marshal
Yanda, OT/OG, Iowa |
| For a team that is based on the
running game and once had one of the most domiant lines in the NFL,
the Chiefs are struggling. Yanda can play guard or tackle and was
coached in college by top offensive line guru Kirk Ferentz. |
85. Seattle Seahawks
 |
Joshua
Beekman, OG, Boston College |
| The Seahawks were unable to
effectively replace Steve Hutchinson. Floyd Womack is better served
in a back up role and Chris Gray is 37 years old. Beekman is a tough
and smart lineman like BC is known for and is a terrific value here.
Read the War Room Report Interview with Joshua Beekman! |
86. Denver Broncos
 |
Aundrae Allison, WR, East Carolina |
| The Broncos brought in Brandon Stokley
and Brandon Marshall had a solid rookie season, but Rod Smith may be
on his last legs and Stokley is probably only a stop gap solution.
Allison is talented but he must demonstrate more consistency in his
play. |
87. Dallas Cowboys
 |
Ikaika
Alama-Francis, DE, Hawaii |
| Alama-Francis a terrific athlete who
has received a lot of attention in the off-season. The Cowboys could
bring him in, as he translates well to a 3-4 DE immediately and has
a very high upside. |
88. New Orleans Saints
 |
Scott
Chandler, TE, Iowa |
| The Saints are building a top notch
offense and signed Eric Johnson in the off-season. However they have
an offensive head coach that would like to bring additional weapons
on board. Chandler is 6'7 and a good receiver who can get playing
time immediately. |
89. New York Jets
 |
Martrez
Milner, TE, Georgia |
| The Jets like the potential of Chris
Baker, but Milner is a very gifted athlete who has substantial
upside. From one of the best TE producing schools in the country,
Milner did not start until the 2006 season, but he showed potential. |
90. Philadelphia Eagles
 |
H.B.
Blades, MLB, Pittsburgh |
| Jeremiah Trotter has been the leader
in the middle for the Eagles during their recent run, but there are
questions to how much longer his body can hold up. H.B. Blades is a
similar player. He dominated games in the Big East, and despite not
having outstanding measurables, he is a productive football player
who fits the type of player that the Eagles like to build around. |
91. New England Patriots
 |
Aaron Rouse, S, Virginia Tech |
| Rodney Harrison may be playing his
last season and the Patriots do not have a reliable internal option
to replace him. Rouse projects well as a strong safety in the New
England scheme. He is a physical specimen with a mean streak who is
not afraid to hit. He must work on improving his coverage skills,
but a year to serve as Harrison's understudy could prove very
valuable. |
92. Buffalo Bills
 |
Stewart
Bradley, OLB, Nebraska |
| After trading Takeo Spikes, the Bills
are left with a hole on the outside. Bradley was a tackling machine
at Nebraska and could immediately start for the Bills. |
93. San Diego Chargers
 |
Anthony Waters, MLB, Clemson |
| The Chargers lost both of their
starting inside linebackers in the off-season. Waters tore his ACL
at the beginning of the 2006 season but was extremely productive his
junior year at Clemson. He is a good fit for the 3-4 system as he
has the strength to fight through blocks and make plays. He can also
rush the passer and should be fine in coverage as long as he gets to
play mostly zone coverage. |
94. Chicago Bears
 |
Lorenzo Booker, RB, Florida State |
| The Bears traded Thomas Jones and are
content to let Cedric Benson be the lead tailback. Booker brings a
multitude of skills to the table that would be beneficial to use
with Benson. Booker's pass catching abilities should allow him to
see the field immediately and he could contribute as a change of
pace runner. |
95. Indianapolis Colts
 |
Kenny Irons, RB, Auburn |
| The Colts lost Dominic Rhodes and
standout Joseph Addai will be the man in Indy. However, Irons is a
good value here and the Colts need a player to backup Addai. Irons
was considered to be a higher pick prior to a poor senior season and
a less than stellar off-season. He could go much higher, however. |
96. San Diego Chargers
(Comp)
 |
Michael Coe, CB, Alabama State |
| The Chargers added Antonio Cromartie
in the 2006 draft but still could add some depth at the position.
Coe is starting to get more recognition after playing his senior
season at Alabama State. Coe showed well in the postseason all-star
games and has good coverage skills. He looks for the ball and can
make plays. He knows how to use his size to cover which fits in well
with the Chargers system. |
97. San Francisco 49ers
(Comp)
 |
Antwan
Barnes, OLB, Florida International |
| Tully Banta-Cain was added in the
off-season but his upside is limited. Manny Lawson starts at one OLB
spot, but despite the hype, he had a mediocre rookie campaign.
Barnes open some eyes at the scouting combine after moving to OLB
from DE and is the type of pass rusher that the 49ers could
desperately use to kick start the 3-4 |
98. Indianapolis Colts
(Comp)
 |
Johnnie Lee Higgins, WR, UTEP |
| The Colts lost Brandon Stokley, who
was injured much of the season anyway. Higgins could immediately
step in an become a playmaker in the slot role, allowing Dallas
Clark to play more tight end. Higgins could also eventually replace
Marvin Harrison. |
99. Oakland Raiders
(Comp)
 |
Paul Williams, WR, Fresno State |
| The Raiders have talent at WR, but the
production has not matched that. Jerry Porter and Randy Moss both
could be gone. Williams is a talented WR in his own right and could
see the field as a rookie. |
