33. Oakland Raiders
 |
Tony
Ugoh, OT, Arkansas |
| The
Raiders need to add help along the offensive line and the signing of
Jermaine Newberry combined with already having Jake Grove on the
roster should make Ugoh the pick over Ryan Kalil. |
34. Detroit Lions
 |
Anthony Spencer, DE, Purdue |
| Despite
signing Dewayne White, the Lions still need a DE. Spencer
could easily be a Round One pick and is a perfect fit for the Tampa
2 defense which requires the defensive ends to pressure the passer
on virtually ever play. |
35. Tampa Bay Bucs
 |
Charles Johnson, DE, Georgia |
| Much like
Spencer, Johnson could easily be selected in Round One pick. Both
players are likely to slide because of the quality of the defensive
end class. The Vikings lost Dewayne White and brought in Kevin
Carter, but must get younger at this important position. |
36. Cleveland Browns
 |
Eric
Wright, CB, UNLV |
| Cleveland desperately needs a cornerback and
Eric Wright would be a very good pick here. Physically, Wright
should be a Round One pick, but concerns about his off the field
actions and level of competition at UNLV could allow the Browns to
get a great value at a position of need. |
37. Chicago Bears
 |
Dwayne Jarrett, WR, USC |
|
The Bears could go several directions with
this pick, but it would be difficult to ignore the value that
Jarrett represents here. Jarrett's production at USC should speak
for itself and he would be a valuable red zone target for Rex
Grossman. |
38. Arizona Cardinals
 |
David
Harris, MLB, Michigan |
| The
Cardinals need to add a linebacker here and Harris is the best
value. Harris has the speed to play sideline to sideline and the
size to contribute in the rushing game. Harris could immediately
displace Gerald Hayes in the starting lineup. |
39. Atlanta Falcons
 |
Tim Crowder, DE, Texas |
| After losing
Patrick Kerney, the Falcons need to add a defensive end. Crowder had
a solid career at Texas and impressed in workouts with his quickness
at 270 lbs. He should be able to contribute immediately. |
40. Miami Dolphins
 |
Ryan Kalil, C, USC |
| The Dolphins could go in several
directions with this pick, but may decide to invest in Kalil, a
first round talent that falls because many of the teams drafting
ahead of Miami are set at center. The Dolphins would ideally like to
add a tackle, but Kalil's versatility and value would be hard to
pass on for a team that needs offensive line help. |
41. Minnesota Vikings
 |
Marcus
McCauley, CB, Fresno State |
| The Vikings
could use help at cornerback after the Fred Smoot experiment failed.
McCauley had an outstanding junior season only to regress during
2006, but his physical tools can not be underestimated. |
42. San Francisco 49ers
 |
Sidney Rice, WR, South Carolina |
| The 49ers
are currently slated to enter the season with Ashley Lelie and Arnaz
Battle starting at WR. Rice is a tremendous value here, as a player
with his combination of ball skills and size is difficult to find.
Rice can team with Vernon Davis to give Alex Smith a pair of top red
zone targets.

43. Buffalo Bills
 |
Tanard Jackson, CB/S, Syracuse |
| The Bills lost
Nate Clements and can replace him with Tanard Jackson. Jackson is
not a favorite of the War Room Report, which has concerns about his
ball skills and ability to cover in man situations, but he is an
experience player who is willing to support the run who could
replace Clements. |
44. Atlanta Falcons
 |
Eric
Weddle, S, Utah |
| With their
second 2nd round pick, Atlanta can address another pressing need
at safety with the verstatile Eric Weddle. The All-American could
replace Chris Crocker immediately and would be a valuable asset when
Lawyer Milloy moves on. |
45. Carolina Panthers
 |
Brandon
Siler, MLB, Florida |
| Dan
Morgan's future is still up in the air and Chris Draft is not going
to be back. Siler was the leader on the 2007 National Champion
Florida Gators and excels in run support.

46. Pittsburgh Steelers
 |
Daymeion Hughes, CB, Cal |
| The Steelers have bombed lately in
selecting corners in the draft, but Hughes was extremely productive
at Cal and should be able to continue to grow under the tutelage of
Mike Tomlin. |
47. Green Bay Packers
 |
Anthony Gonzalez, WR, Ohio State |
| The
Packers drafted Greg Jennings in Round Two last season but could
stand to add another WR with Donald Driver advancing in age.
Gonzalez played in the shadow of Ted Ginn at Ohio State, but
demonstrated his agility at the scouting combine. |
48. Jacksonville Jaguars
 |
Lamar Woodley, DE, Michigan |
| Woodley had
outstanding production at Michigan and Jacksonville needs to bring
in a pass rusher, with Reggie Hayward returning from an injury.
Bobby McCray is a solid starter, but Woodley would compete for snaps
across from him. |
49. Cincinnati Bengals
 |
Rufus
Alexander, OLB, Oklahoma |
| The Bengals
lost David Pollack to injury and his future is uncertain. They could
benefit greatly from bringing the tackling machine Alexander on
board. All true need areas of the Bengals do not offer value here. |
50. Tennessee Titans
 |
Victor
Abiamiri, DE, Notre Dame |
| The
Titans need to add a cornerback or defensive lineman here. Abiamiri
could replace Travis LaBoy in the starting lineup. |
51. New York Giants
 |
Arron
Sears, OG/OT, Tennessee |
| The
Giants need help along the offensive line and Sears provides
flexibility. He played OT at Tennessee but may translate better as a
guard in the pros. Regardless, he would help improve a line that has
struggled in recent years. |
52. St. Louis Rams
 |
Ben
Grubbs, OG, Auburn |
| The
starting guards for the Rams have been in the league for a combined
25 years, and despite having one of the best running backs in the
league, they struggled to run the ball at times. Grubbs is a
terrific value here and the Rams could go after him instead of a
more pressing need at OLB. |
53. Dallas Cowboys
 |
Steve
Smith, WR, USC |
| Both
starting receivers for the Cowboys will be 33 years old when the
season starts and the backups have yet to show they can be NFL
starters. Smith is a great value here, as he dispelled any concerns
about his athleticism at the combine. He has great hands and should
have a productive career. |
54. Kansas City Chiefs
 |
Quinn Pitcock, DT, Ohio State |
| Kansas City needs
help along the interior of the defensive line. They could go with
the steady Pitcock here over Tank Tyler or Marcus Thomas. |
55. Seattle Seahawks
 |
Zach Miller, TE, Arizona State |
| The Seahawks
have moved on from Jerramy Stevens and signed Marcus Pollard.
However, Pollard is not a top pass catching threat and is 35 years
old. Zach Miller was in the discussion to be the top tight end in
the draft, but he does not have outstanding long speed. He has great
hands and will make a good fit for the West Coast offense. |
56. Denver Broncos
 |
Tank Tyler, DT, North Carolina State |
| Denver needs a DT that can provide
immediate impact and Tyler has the potential to do that. He needs to
play with more consistent efforts, but he has the tools necessary to
be a difference maker at DT. |
57. Philadelphia Eagles
 |
Brian Leonard, RB/FB, Rutgers |
| The
Eagles would like to get a running back to assist Brian Westbrook.
Leonard is a multi-dimensional player that the Eagles staff is smart
enough to use. He could be used towards the end of games to wear
down defenses. |
58. New Orleans Saints
 |
Fred
Bennett, CB, South Carolina |
| The
Saints need to address the CB position which hampered them in the
playoffs. Fred Bennett could compete with Fred Thomas for a starting
spot almost immediately. |
59. New York Jets
 |
Ray McDonald, DE/DT, Florida |
| McDonald fits well as a 3-4 DE and the
Jets could use a versatile player along the defensive front. He has
a non stop motor that will fit well in the Jets system. |
60. Miami Dolphins
 |
Drew Stanton, QB, Michigan State |
| The Dolphins
have not had luck in recent years securing the QB position, despite
trading for A.J. Feeley and Daunte Culpepper. They must find their
quarterback of the future for Cam Cameron and Stanton has the tools
to be a successful NFL QB. |
|
61. Baltimore Ravens
 |
Josh Wilson, CB, Maryland |
| The Ravens
tried to address the CB position last year with the selection of
David Pittman, but he was inactive all season. The speedy Wilson can
contribute immediately on special teams and should provide good
support on the Ravens defense. |
62. San Diego Chargers
 |
Craig Davis, WR, LSU |
| The Chargers
addressed a pressing need at safety in Round One and are able to add
a good WR prospect in Round Two. Craig Davis has a lot of potential
and should be able to compete for a starting job in
San Diego immediately. |
63. New York Jets
 |
Dan Bazuin, DE, Central Michigan |
| Bazuin has
been extremely productive at Central Michigan, totaling 41.5 TFL and
26.5 sacks the previous two seasons. He projects well at the NFL
level as a 3-4 OLB who can focus on rushing the passer. The Jets
have Bryan Thomas, but Bazuin is a solid value here who can be used
in a variety of ways. |
64. Tampa Bay Bucs
 |
Marcus
Thomas, DT, Florida |
| The Bucs
need to add a powerful player along the inside of their defensive
line. With this pick acquired in the trade of Booger McFarlane, the
Bucs can add the talented Thomas, who could have went even higher if
not for off the field troubles. |
